Chelsea and Manchester United are set to battle it out for Claudio Marchisio this summer, with both sides keen on the Serie A midfielder.
Man United have well documented issues in the middle of the park, and bringing in the Serie A star may well help Paul Pogba to adjust and settle in to life at the club.
It’s even been claimed that Antonio Conte has spoken to the 31-year-old player by phone, and is set on bringing him to Chelsea next season as he prepares to return to the Champions League and launch an assault on Europe.

It’s not the first time Jose Mourinho has come up against his former club, and it almost certainly won’t be the last, with Conte clashing with Mourinho on a couple of occasions this season, with touchline bust ups a theme of the sides playing each other this season.
The lure of Champions League football – something Man United are not guaranteed to get next season – may be the deciding factor in who lands the player, and Chelsea seem to be confident of landing their man.
